Ok so I haven't had a drink in 3 years next month due to Cirrhosis but recent research shows that Cannabis can help people with the disease...I don't want to smoke it in case it makes me want to smoke again but these cakes sound ideal !
Anyone make these or have tried them ? I can get hold of the shit as I get it for my neighbour :-)

Thanks all for all the info it's much appreciated...
Yes I was a functioning alcoholic and as I said It's nearly 3 years since a drink I've lost 3 stone with a lot of muscle waste so I just need the odd buzz especially listening to my vinyl....

JAC if your seriously paying 180 for 5 ml of CBD oil give me a shout in about 4 weeks as your being fucked over if you need it for pain meds.

I take cannabis oil every day, not the shit from Holland and Barrett but proper stuff with the "happy"bit extracted.
Its supposed to be good for lowering blood pressure,anxiety etc
Its not cheap,£180 for a small syringe which lasts about 3-4 months.Not sure if it does much but psychologically I feel better, especially if it keeps the Big C at bay.

Without reading the research I suspect it is only helpful insofar as there *might* be some evidence that it enables problem drinkers to substitute alcohol for another intoxicant and therefore gives their liver a bit of respite. There is a weight of other evidence that is pretty compelling and shows that abstinence from all intoxicants is by far the most effective rememdy for problem drug/alcohol use.
It would be pretty surprising if the cannabis itself has any healing effect on the liver apart from that.
None of this is aimed at you specifically Ted, I don’t know your circumstances but if you were what you would consider a problem drinker and that was the cause of your cirrhosis, I’d think a lot more than twice about reintroducing an intoxicating substance after so long away from one.

Space yoghurts are great,i know plenty of people who have never gone anywhere near a fag or a spliff but have managed to get stoned on the yoghurts.

Yes you can buy ready made jellies which are mg dosed for either thc or CBD
Both are great for pain but one will get you nicely fucked too

I have the same problem as have recently given up the fags. So are you saying that you can buy ready-made edible things that get you stoned or is that just for CBD ?

As usual load of bollocks about edibles
You can easily purchase edibles in this country which have been imported to the UK which are properly produced to conform to legal requirements of levels of thc and are sold in dispensers in Usa
Smoking herb through a vape or even smoking pure cannabis oil will not give you the fu)l body effect that edibles have.
The most simple method would to be place a 0.1 g of decent dry siff hash on a spoon and cover it with little oil and then cook it up and shove it in yoghurt

Steer clear of edibles as the process THC takes through the liver makes it far stronger than when smoking. Better to vape.

My advice would be go easy! Cannabis consumed by eating is a slow burner but once it hits can fuck you right up, and not necessarily in a good way. I don't do cannabis much any more but if I did it'd be in cake form.

Don't know if you're a baker Ted (or can actually get hold of Turkish hash), but this may be worth a try:
Half a cup of powdered sugar
A quarter teaspoon of salt
A pinch of Turkish hashish
Half a pound of butter
A teaspoon of vanilla sugar
Half a pound of flour
One hundred and fifty grams of ground nuts
... and no eggs
Put in a bowl
Stir in butter
Add ground nuts and
Knead the dough
Eye ball size
Form pieces of dough
Roll in icing sugar and
Say the magic words

Place on a greased baking sheet and

Definitely steer clear of edibles.
It is leap into the dark as you won't know how strong it is going to be for at least half an hour. If you have too much is too late to do anything about it.

Agree with Bruno.
Having it in a cake without having smoked it before, could turn into the equivalent of never going abroad in your life and then chipping off to India for a month.

But before the nonce mod deletes it I would advise against edibles: it’s easy to overdose and hard to get the right dose.
You would be better of getting a dry herb vape and vapourising very small doses until you find what works for you.
Cannabis can be very therapeutic in the correct dosage, the problem is most people use way over the thereputic dose which then has a negative effect. Just the same as any medication really.
Fwiw I think that cannabis is ideal for recovering alcoholics who just need that something

Must admit though it does seem expensive £50 for a small amount but my neighbour puffs before bed and sleeps like a baby ;-)
